You will grow with Heart-Care Counseling. Taking care of the most important part of you, your innermost self, your heart, will increase your overall sense of well-being creating hope while increasing your ability to give and receive love. Heart-Care is Holy Spirit led counseling that goes beyond talking about issues to unlocking the pain that hides beneath its surface and bringing that pain to The Healer, King Jesus. It is there you experience true healing, true freedom, and true growth.
Did you know everyone has issues?
Some feel that only the “truly broken people” need counseling for their issues. They can handle their issues on their own or their issues are not that big a deal compared to others’ issues and most of the time that can be true. After all, they have gotten this far in life alright, or haven’t they?
But many times, we face crisis in our life that we can’t resolve alone. We face questions about our present or future that overwhelm our usual problem-solving skills. We may feel that we have lost control of life and need someone to help us make better choices. We may need someone to help us sort out the aspects of our actions to find better responses. We may need someone to help us repair emotional scars from past decisions or events. Sometimes we may not be able to understand the conflicting feelings and actions in our life and need help to make better choices. We may need someone to help us learn better ways of expressing and meeting our needs. At times we may feel that we need strengthening or guidance.
It doesn’t mean you are a failure. It just means you are a human in need of a Savior. Jesus said, “Blessed are the “broken-hearted” for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven” Matthew 5:3.
Heart-Care is a time to receive guidance from the Great Counselor, the Holy Spirit. To learn more, read What is Heart-Care?
So, can you take inventory of your life?
- How is your relationship with God? Do you feel like it is thriving and real or stagnant and routine?
- How is your relationship with others? Do you feel connected or alone in a crowd? Are you in conflict with your spouse or your family?
- How is your relationship with the person you look at in the mirror? Do you embrace the uniqueness of the flaws or critique with a negative dialogue what you see?
- Is anything hindering success in your life? hindering peace? hindering joy? hindering love?
- Are you anxious about the future? Are you depressed about the past?
- Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD?

What is expected of me when I ask for Heart-Care Counseling?
You will be asked to share as much of your story as you feel comfortable with sharing. If at any time you feel unsafe or hesitant, you will be given the freedom of privacy. You can only be healed of what is revealed. Sometimes it takes a while to bring out our “little black boxes” as we must know we are safe. I will honor your pace and give you space.
What about confidentiality and anonymity?
What is shared during a Heart-Care session is confidential with the exceptions required by the Texas State Law of indications of child abuse or neglect, abuse or neglect of the elderly, and abuse or neglect of the disabled.
If there is a probability of immediate physical injury by you to yourself or others or there is a probability of immediate mental or emotional injury to you as a result of your own or the actions of others, as your counselor must take reasonable action to inform medical or law enforcement personnel.
How long will it take to help me with my issues?
Many times, our issues did not happen overnight. While an event may have tipped us over the proverbial cliff, chances are the circumstances that led to overload may have been brewing for a while.
Heart-Care Counseling is not one session and done. Think of it like peeling an onion. It takes the human heart time to come to terms with pain from the past or face the blocks in the present or fears of the future. We will set goals for counseling and revisit them as counseling is intervention for a season not a lifetime commitment.
However, you will be empowered with education to understand inner conflicts and recognize irrational beliefs. You will be equipped with practical tools to apply your knowledge in your daily life. It is my goal that every session brings new levels of healing and freedom. In crisis, you won’t be alone.
