“You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason, I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” John 18:37
If there is a Kingdom, then there is a King. So who is this King Jesus?
The King? That is His job.
The Judge? That is His purpose
The Bridegroom? That is who He is.
Jesus came talking about a new kind of Kingdom. A leader really does define
– to bring the Truth that would reconcile hearts to His father.
The One who Loves His Bride.
If that is who He is – then shouldn’t His government reflect Him in all three areas?
If He establishes His rulership in our hearts then shouldn’t those three areas be part of our
To quote the words of JoAnn McFatter, “O, how I love this man, Jesus, His purpose if my heart’s desire. He’s my Magnificent Obsession….”
“Lord, Jesus, You truly are the King of my life.
I am fascinated by Your Majesty, Your beauty.
I long to fulfill Your heart’s desire. It is my purpose.
To say that I am obsessed by You is a mild confession.
I ponder Your ways both day and night.
You truly are my
Magnificent Obsession.”
