When you’ve been marked for a purpose, you belong to God.
You can run. You can hide. But even the world doesn’t want you.
Talk to the “prodigals” that found their way home.
Think about Jonah’s trip in a living submarine.
The enemy knows when you have been marked… even if you don’t.
Skillful traps are set.
Propensities are reinforced.
Fog hides destiny.
The map is blurred with detours.
But when God has a plan, a goal, He is not deterred by time or diversions.
He patiently uses the resistance to transform:
Jacobs into Israels – a deceiver into a great nation,
Abrams into Abrahams – a moon worshipper to the Father of Jehovah worshippers,
Johns into the Beloved – a son of Thunder to the humble one that Jesus loved
Sauls into Pauls – a religious zealot to a man of faith
When you realize you were made for love, your heart cannot escape the mystery.
You will be consumed. You will be captivated by the adventure that can be yours.
Contemplating that the infinite, uncreated God would choose to live IN YOU,
Considering He made your body to be a temple, a house for Him to live in,
Pondering that God made you with a free will to voluntarily choose Him,
Wondering about the fact that God wants an intimate relationship with you,
Meditating on the glorious truth that God loves you just like you are,
Accepting that He thinks that you are the greatest, most cool ever,
Will mesmerize your mind with the incomprehensible,
an unfathomable reality that you were
made to love and be loved by God.
Passionately jealous for us, He marked us as His and pursues us to claim us as His own.
God is a lover who burns with fiery desire for His Bride
– us.
God wants somebody to love Him just because they want to
– not because they have to.
He created a home for us with His best designs
–stars, seasons, oceans, animals,
processes, beauty, life, color, intrigue, mystery.
He has a few expectations of what our relationship with Him will look like, be like.
Understanding HE MADE US for LOVE in our minds opens the depth of His love for us in our hearts, bringing a natural response of wanting to return that love by honoring His expectations and respecting His wishes us to see that smile on His face.
Understanding HE MADE US for HIS PURPOSE brings new meaning to what we do, who we are. It really is not about us anymore. It is not about our name. It is not about our influence. It is not about who we know. It is not about being seen or heard. The goal is just to make Him seen or heard.
