The world has a system of evaluating and labeling those “Most Likely to ______.”
But God’s ways are not like man’s ways.
God chooses the “Most Unlikely Ones” to accomplish His purpose.
Aren’t we glad He doesn’t judge as man does?
We all have a story.
We all have reasons to have been considered “unlikely”…
not good enough for the “call of God”…
We all have reasons to have been disqualified.
Too young…
Too dumb…
Too broken…
Too religious…
Too old…
Too insecure…
Too…. Whatever…
He chooses the unlikely because then He gets the Glory.
Abraham…too old.
Moses… too Egyptian.
Joseph.., too spoiled.
Mary… too young.
Gideon….too wussy.
Rahab…too loose.
Paul…too religious.
Peter…too crass.
That is great news for us. He does not require us to be qualified- just willing.
Maybe that is how He can download tremendous revelation to a plumber or call an insurance salesman to lead one of the greatest end-time revivals.
Maybe that is how He can mark a woman raised by non-believers to establish a house of prayer.
Maybe that is why the prayers of a little granny in her secret place brings forth the harvest of her grandkids.
So, when you get the tap on your shoulder, and your startled response is “Who me?” Take comfort in the long line of “unlikelies” that have gone before you.
Do you feel like one of the “unlikelies”? Maybe that is why He is choosing you. The glory will be all His.
