It is the season to think about Jesus as a baby… to celebrate that He was born.
It is the season to remember the events that brought Him here.
Can you imagine the emotions that raced in Mary’s heart when the angel told her she was chosen? What was this going to mean to her future? What was this going to do to her reputation? Nobody can really blame her for being “sore afraid.”
Can you envision the questions of “how” in Mary’s mind? There really is a practical side of the declarations of the Lord… it is one thing to agree, to surrender, to be totally willing to do what God asks of us …. and it is okay to inquire.. “and exactly ‘how’ is this going to work?
“…and the power of the Most High will OVERSHADOW you…” Luke 1:35
To hide under.
The very essence of God was deposited in a human…in one holy moment…in an encounter when HEAVEN came to earth. In that pivotal moment, the promises of God were conceived and the plans of eternity began its nine month journey to manifestation … and history was forever to be changed by the birth of God’s purpose on the earth.
The miracle of a virgin birth has happened only once…
But the depth of that miracle is realized in the pattern of God replicated time and again throughout scripture…
He has an orderly plan and it involves the precious ones of His creation.
He chooses the unlikely ones to carry His purpose.
He is looking for those that will surrender to eternity.
He wants to hover over the wombs of the ones He loves placing in them the very essence of the will of heaven.
In this season, my heart is crying out in longing.
“Holy Spirit, overshadow ME!
I want to be totally hidden in You….even if the place under your wing is tight there I know that I will feel Your heart beat.
I am praying that the Will of Heaven, the purpose of the Almighty, will be found in me and the ones that I love and the place that I love..my home, my church, my city, my state, my nation.
As you read this I pray “Let the Spirit of the Most High overshadow you” changing that which is formless and void into a place where life abounds.
