Today my heart grieves for the corporate Bride of Christ.
She is spiritually fat, sassy, lazy and asleep.
She is blinged up for life but don’t be fooled by the bling.
She wears a brave mask hide the broken, disillusioned places of her bleeding heart.
The Bride has been deceived by those who are “greatly deceived.” She wrestles discontentedly with the reality of bondage while pondering grace’s failure in her life. She can’t resolve why the promise she hears on Sundays doesn’t manifest with reality in her troubled life like promised. She screams, “There has to be more than this.”
Could the problem be that?
Discipleship has been confused with fellowship.
Community has been chosen over conflict.
Programs have taken the place of prayer.
The meat of God’s word has been substituted for dessert.
Jesus is looking over the balcony of heaven with longing for a Bride that wants to see His face. Instead, He finds His Bride only looking for His hand. (that is… when she does look His way.)
But, He knows what His Father promised Him.
She is going to be His someday… soon.
She will have made herself ready.
The longing in her heart for more of Jesus in her life will drive her to let go of the temporary pleasures of the earth to reach for the eternal.
It is the plan of Heaven.
It is the will of Heaven.
It is the reality of the Kingdom that is coming to earth.
So, why?
Why is she asleep in her sinful patterns of life when the lover of her soul so wants to spend time with her?
Why has she embraced the disillusionment of hopelessness locked in her path of destruction?
Why do the blind lead the blind?
Where are those with the keys to set the captives free?
To release them from the cells of delusion in their mind?
To give liberty to the bruised and wounded?
Where are those with the lamps to give sight to those who are blind?
Let the gospel – the GOOD NEWS- arise in the land…the Year of the Lord’s favor is at hand.
It is my prayer that the gentle song of His love sweeps over the sleeping spirit of the Bride gently awakening her to the Song of the Ages alleviating the need for an Alarm clock.
Can you hear the song?
Good morning, Bride of Christ.
Oh, what a day He has planned.
Circumstances filled with joy.
His love filling the temples of hearts.
Baths in the fountains of grace and mercy.
Delightful delicacies picked from the garden of Eden.
Strolls on the sands of time – healing, melting, restoring, redeeming, repairing.
Hikes up the mountains of – dreams, destiny, testimony.
“Good morning, Bride of Christ.” Your Bridegroom has come.
