Think with my heart faster than my head. I love because God loves me.

July 2026 Family Vacation in Branson. It was a new July 2026 Family Vacation in Branson. It was a new experience for my daddy who has travelled the world to work in Africa, China, Russia and the North Sea and hunt across the nation. So to go someplace to just have fun was a new experience for him. Coordinating our adult legacy’s work schedules was the biggest victory. Boat day, Silver Dollar city, Sight and Sound Theatre the “David” show, it was a time of memories. #vaccinationdone✔️
So this happened today. A new lawn tractor. Yester So this happened today. A new lawn tractor. Yesterday the old one quit again. If you know anything about us, we fix stuff. He kept putting it back together, tinkering with parts. It was only 25 years old. (I am glad he doesn’t mind old stuff with a few wonky parts.) Happy Father’s Day to the man who can fix just about anything or refuses to admit if he can’t. You are one in a billion and we are glad you are ours. #happyfathersday2026
I am a bonafide daddy’s girl. I can’t let this day I am a bonafide daddy’s girl. I can’t let this day go by without wishing this amazing man, a living legend, a tender soul a happy day. #happyfathersday2026

This has been a hard week. I reached for my phone This has been a hard week. I reached for my phone to call my momma just to catch up… to see how she was feeling…. And the weights of reality hit me again like a salty ocean wave taking away my breath and leaving me with tears streaming down my face.

So many things I miss about my momma, but most of all is her confident belief in me that “I can do it.” She was one of those brutally honest people (she told me one day, “Man all this health stuff you are going through has sure aged you 😳) so I knew when she said she knew I would succeed, there was no doubt. Her faith was unwavering like that.

Close behind is: I miss her ability to be “sufficiently indignant” when I told her my troubles. “That piece of trash” was her ultimate judgment to validate the whine of my humanity. She has one of those faces that said what her words were not saying because she could hold her words but “whoa Lordy there was little doubt of what she thought.” She was a redeemed cusser.

There is a part of grief that no one talks much about and it is the wrestle with regret. The “shoulds” demand a level beyond human ability but they are still there creating shadows of what could’ve been.

I wish I could tell my momma one more time this Mother’s Day, “I am grateful God chose you to be my momma.”
Well, it was fun while it lasted. The little sugar Well, it was fun while it lasted. The little sugars were almost asleep when they heard the coyotes. Then it was over!!! #makingmemories

It has been one year since you left. One year of m It has been one year since you left. One year of missing you, one year of crying too many tears to fall, one year of wishing for your wisdom, one year of remembering. It has been one year of wrestling with the vacuum you left in so many of our lives. One year since you became a “saint.” (You used to tell me once a person dies they become a saint - suddenly perfect.)

For years you talked about leaving. You lived your life for eternity. I still remember the day in 2004 when I stopped the plan of God to take you early with my heart broken cries. You still had your dignity, then. But I am so grateful you stayed to meet my grandkids and for them to get to know you. I am so grateful for the 20 more years I got to spend time with my momma, my friend.

My little girl has been on the struggle bus this year. My big girl knew you weren’t hurting, but my little girl just wanted her momma. (‘Contained in comments)
Traveling down memory lane often this season. Reme Traveling down memory lane often this season. Remembering that day thirty-four years ago when heaven sent me a masterpiece to hold, to treasure, to love. Her name means “Pure One.” To us, she has been and still is pure joy, pure delight, and our sweetheart.

Today, just like every day, we celebrate the beauty of a soul committed to love, a spirit surrendered to her Lord, and a heart that is lovely.

She walks in a healing anointing bringing peace with her songs and hope in prayers. I love hearing the stories of how she walks into irate patient’s rooms, whose pain makes them less than lovely, and she takes the time to see them as a hurting person in need of patience and grace. Or the stories of caring enough for patients to empower them to fight their disease. A friend who works in the hospital said she was standing at the nurses’s desk making notes and she felt the atmosphere shift and turned around to see Katrina walking down the hall. Katrina had arrived with her team of mercy and peace angels. (Sorry, not so sorry for the brag. I have learned through the years to give roses to celebrate in the present rather than wait.)

Our journeys in life can sometimes take us through the barren places. I watched my daughter learn to sing a new song. Through the dark night of her soul, she pressed fresh oil of love and devotion for the One who holds her heart. The melodies of pure worship come from a heart that has witnessed the faithfulness of the Lord in the midnight hours.

We can know something intellectually, but when we experience it, (those trials and suffering) there’s a confidence that is produced, a wisdom of greater understanding, and a deep awareness of truly “knowing Christ” as we fellowship in His suffering. I have watched with tears, my beautiful daughter press oil with integrity and kindness, controlling her words, taming her tongue as she embraced truth.

“Isn’t she lovely?” #happybirthday
What a time to see little men living their wild si What a time to see little men living their wild side with the thrill of adventure!!! (And a few princesses offering slower rides.) We celebrated Clark’s “All Aboard for Four” birthday with a train cake, ice cream and pizza, and 6 electric kid cars. (Our neighbor gave us four, and all they needed were new batteries.) It was great to see the absolute joy on their faces. Larry created a course in our yard and was full time mechanic to keep them going. #SuperBappa Clark was so happy to share his favorite thing, his need for speed, with his friends.

Four years old today, he is all boy! Born with adv Four years old today, he is all boy! Born with adventure in his heart, he keeps us on our toes as we never know what we will find him doing next. Right now, it is “seeing how things work” (aka taking everything apart.)

This summer he learned to ride his bike with no training wheels, swim under water, and skate…. Anything to go fast. His Bapa put a 20 volt battery on his play 4-wheeler and he is a wild man flying through the yard doing donuts on the drive laughing.

He is almost reading, likes counting and sorting but his favorite thing are trains and magna tiles. Whoever invented Magna-tiles was a genius!!

But our favorite thing to watch is his character blossom as he is quick to apologize, is quick to share, and how much he loves. He adores his sister and mommy, but his favorite person is his Bappa. Probably because they do the no-no’s together.

Time is flying and so much fun with our sweet little Clark. Now if we could just break his “back seat driving” habit. 🤭

Today we rode the A-train for his birthday adventure and he got to blow the horn.

We are all still trying to figure out what to do with the gapping hole in our hearts, but we are trying. #treasuringthemoments

We absolutely adore our pretty pretty little princess who prefers the title queen.

This past year she has grown to understand some things in life are hard and Super Mommy can’t always fix it. She learned to pray “The Lord’s Prayer.” She told me, as she sat in class she would whisper the prayer in her heart.

Happy Birthday to the matriarch of the family. Wit Happy Birthday to the matriarch of the family. With so many things to admire about her, I do believe I most appreciate seeing her determination and feisty independent spirit. We got to hear lots of childhood stories this trip. It was fun to hear her smile about escapades of her youth. Her #fabseven was only represented by five this birthday. Her legacy in these amazing people is a gift to the world. I am glad I got one. 😜

Words often fail me these days. For people who kno Words often fail me these days. For people who know me, you can appreciate the foreign place my heart finds itself.

I can’t miss the opportunity to try to celebrate the two incredible men in my life.

Deep inside they both understood the call on their life to be sons of God who brings love and protection to their families.

My daddy taught me unconditional love. He set the standard high for what I would look for in a life partner. When God sent me Larry, I found the perfect complement to my weaknesses but most importantly, I found agreement in core beliefs that shaped my life, that would build legacy.

Little man ended his season with victory over big Little man ended his season with victory over big feelings. He has the athleticism and the competitiveness but has been working on being “sckiered” and finding his brave. Just maybe… ice cream with sprinkles was the prize he needed to push past the limits inside his little soul. (Funny story… I reminded him of his ice cream during the game when the Mind Monster showed up and all the other kids heard about the ice cream and the game almost ended. The referee was like “why are you stopping the game to go eat ice cream?” 😬
This last trip around the globe has definitely had This last trip around the globe has definitely had some days filled with more questions than answers, more sorrow than joy, and more nights without stars. That scripture “when you have done all you can do, just stand” has felt like a runaway treadmill as I feel like my feet are slipping on time the more I have tried to find my footing. I thought I knew a lot about God, and His nature, and His world until this past year of moving into my next decade. I have come to know His Grace that does when I can’t. I have come to taste His faithfulness when my faithfulness is only a whisper. I have experienced His love to be so patient and kind that shared His hope, that sent others to share their faith when mine was buried in the mudslide of life. But I made it. Grateful. Determined. #notoldjustvintage

01Are you growing?

It has been said, “You are either growing or dying.”  It doesn’t matter if you are a plant or a person.  The motions of human growth take being intentional, being self-aware, being self-motivated, and most of all a plan.  As a friend, I have to ask how are you growing spiritually in your faith? in grace? in your love of Jesus Christ? How are you growing in your soul? your mind, will, and emotions? How is your physical health? Are you living a vibrant and abundant life?
